چکیده
• A. swirskii is present in 22 countries, mainly Africa and the Middle East. occurs mostly on crops uncultivated plants of Rosaceae, Rutaceae, Solanaceae. Molecular diversity was very low all populations except those Cape Verde. Populations tested Egypt, Israel, Reunion Island, Benin were similar to commercial material. Verde population may reflect novel life history traits useful biocontrol. Amblyseius a predatory mite family Phytoseiidae that widely used biological control small insect pests. A from Israel source material now commercially marketed by several biocontrol companies. The study aimed characterize genetic variability using 12S rRNA, CytB COI mtDNA sequences, explore its geographical distribution based compilation known newly- reported occurrences, including countries where this species naturally occurs. primarily eastern Mediterranean basin Africa. has been 48 plant families, with highest number observations Rutaceae Solanaceae, crops, but also plants. one Verde; other studied not differentiated ones. results suggest commercialized natural co-occur widely, even environments. seems be distinct relatively high intra-population variation, among specimens collected single locality species. The prey preference of polyphagous predators plays an important role in suppressing different species of pest insects. In this study the prey preference of the predatory mite, Amblyseius swirskii (Athias-Henriot) (Acari: Phytoseiidae) was examined between nymphs of the twospotted spider mite, Tetranychus urticae Koch (Acari: Tetranychidae) and first instar larvae of the western flower thrips, F...

Life table of Tetranychus urticae and Phytoseiulus persimilis on bean leaflets were studied under laboratory conditions in three seasons. For T. urticae the development time from egg to adult varied from 7 to 24 days and the highest immature mortality was 78.70 % in winter. Eggs laid by females were 88.1 eggs in autumn and 70.6 eggs in summer season. The gross reproductive rate (GRR) was the hi...

Amblyseius swirskiiAthias-Henriot (Acari: Phytoseiidae) is a predatory mite used to control thrips (Thysanoptera), whiteflies (Bemisia tabaci Genn., Hemiptera: Aleyrodidae), and broad mites (BMs) (Polyphagotarsonemus latus Banks, Acari: Tarsonemidae). Dispersal of A. swirskii, using the ornamental pepper "Explosive Ember" as a banker plant was evaluated for control of BMs in high-tunnel peppers...

Two new species, Neoseiulus elisiensis n. sp. and Neoseiulus neomarginatus n. sp., are described from Greece. Neoseiulus leucophaeus (Athias-Henriot) is re-described and illustrated based on specimens collected on Thymelaea hirsuta (L.) Endl. A key to all species of the genus Neoseiulus Hughes reported from Greece is provided.
